LeadYoung Institute


Overview

LeadYoung Institute (LYI) is a community-based strategy to identify and develop students, gifted in organizational leadership, in the Conejo Valley, California (north of Los Angeles). The goal is to model a local impetus on leadership talent development, as well as a means to conduct research related to young leader gifting and growth. LYI will work alongside schools and civic groups, offering adult education and student leader training. Dr. Nelson will directly oversee LYI, along with its programs and staff. Nominate a Candidate

This is an invitation only program for 10-18 year olds, although we encourage people to nominate students for consideration. To do this, complete an application at https://leadyoungtraining.com/resources/forms/student-application/  Write LYI in the slot for the “Name of school, club or host organization.”

Gifting Assessment

Student candidates must also have 2 Social Influence Surveys submitted on them, but only 1 from a parent or relative: https://leadyoungtraining.com/free-assessment/social-influence-survey-ages-6-18/ .  Again, note LYI in the slot for the name of the host.

Research Advisor Group

Part of our mission at LYI is to study the identification, training and social impact of young leaders. We’re putting together a team of experts who’ll advise on this. Click HERE to see our current group.

Leader Incubator

Leader Incubator color logoAs the LeadYoung Institute gets going, we’ll be adding a secondary program for 3-9 year olds, designed for all interested to be involved in programs related to teamwork and leadership emergence. We’ll be using KiddieLead and Lead1st curricula, for parents and children to practice project-based activities, to educate kids on the leadership process as well giving them practice functioning on teams and to identify leadership talent, as a recruiting process for LYI.
